E12S vs E12W — which one fits
- E12S — single call button, 2MP camera, no Wiegand. Best for: simple home or villa where one resident or one unit answers. Lowest BOM cost.
- E12W — adds Wiegand (in/out selectable), expanded I/O, NFC reader. Best for: integration with existing access-control panels (Inception, Paxton, Inner Range) or where you need card-reader compatibility.
Where the E12 fits
- Single-family villas — visitor calling, family-app forwarding, NFC tag for kids without keys.
- Duplexes and small blocks (under 20 units) — pairs with S562 indoor monitors per unit.
- Home intercom retrofits — replaces legacy 2-wire systems in Brisbane Federation homes.
- Gated communities — common gate station with E12W + relay to gate motor.
E12 installed cost in Brisbane
- Single villa supply + install (existing wallbox): $1,250–$1,800
- Duplex (2 stations + 2 indoor monitors): $2,800–$3,800
- Small block install (4-8 units): Quote per project
FAQ
What’s the difference between E12, E12S, and E12W?
E12 is the family name. E12S is the entry variant (single button, basic I/O). E12W adds Wiegand interface, NFC reader, and expanded I/O for access-control integration.
Can the E12 work with a Wiegand access control panel?
Only the E12W has Wiegand (input or output selectable). E12S does not. Specify E12W if you’re integrating with Inception, Paxton, or Inner Range.
What pairs with the E12 indoor-side?
S562 (entry-tier), IT83A (premium 10″ Android), or C313 (legacy 7″ line). E12 → S562 is the standard small-build pairing.
Is the E12 still in production?
Yes. Akuvox actively manufactures and supports the E12 series; firmware updates continue. The series won G Mark, Red Dot, and iF Design Awards in 2022.
